What is the Colonic Board made of?
Our boards are made from a high grade molded plastic, similar to playground equipment in parks. Avoid any unit that is made of a laminated particle board. We have been told by owners of these boards that after a while, the lamination cracks and soiled water seeps in making the board smell horribly. Units made of this material may be cheaper, but you will be replacing it sooner or later. Also fiberglass units tend to crack and need replacing.
How do I prepare for a colonic?
You don’t need to do anything special before your treatment, but for your own comfort you should avoid a heavy meal or drinking a lot immediately before your appointment. You should also avoid alcohol.
Why do I need a Liv-N-Well Colonic Board?
Colon Cleansing is one of the most important things you can do to benefit your health. We firmly believe that unless your colon is clean, no amounts or kinds of drugs, herbs, foods or nutritional supplements will rid the body of all its conditions of disease.
When the colon is filthy, the bloodstream will be filthy, and the cells of the body will be filthy and sick. When the colon is CLEAN, the bloodstream will be clean and healthy and will be able to adequately detoxify all of the cells of the body. Colon irrigation gently flushes the colon with water (and/or a solution) to assist in removal of waste and impactions that inhibit normal evacuation. The Liv-N-Well Colonic Board is an affordable, effective and private way to administer a colonic.
Why can’t I just use herbs to clean out my colon?
Herbs can help clean out the colon, but many times are far too harsh and can stress the organs and the body’s immune system. They are especially hard on someone who may already have a compromised immune system. The cleansing process should rest the body not add undue stress to it. On occasion we will recommend that a one time use of an herbal laxative may be used to “kick start” a cleansing program, however, this is usually reserved for a person that has excessively slow bowel elimination.
How often should I use the Colonic Board?
The Colonic Board may be used at the users discretion, however, they are not recommended to replace normal bowel function. As with laxatives, you do not want to become dependent on colonics to eliminate the colon on a daily basis. We find that most of our customers use the Colonic Board Board between 2 to 14 times during the 7 day cleansing program. This program is generally done twice a year. Many use the Colonic Board only when ill or signs of toxic build up are present.
Is using a Colonic Board normal?
Colon cleansing for health has been a commonly accepted health practice for many years. It has been just in the last 25 to 30 years that Americans have made the colon an “off limits” subject. There are several books that claim the ancient Egyptians used colonic irrigation to alleviate bowel problems long ago. Estimates show that the vast majority of Americans suffer from elimination problems. Many do not realize just how serious the problem is until it is too late.
Hundreds of thousands of Colonic Boards are in use today all over the world. Professional colonic specialists, (colon hydrotherapists), can be found in most every major city across the U.S. This may not be talked about in everyday conversation but bowel health is most certainly on most peoples mind at one time or another.
What kind of tubing do you use/sell?
We use a surgical grade non-latex tubing.
Is a colonic painful?
No, it should not be painful. Remember that the water or solution is not rushing in all at once. It is gently flowing and controlled by the user. Sometimes professional colonics can be painful when the colonic tip (speculum) is inserted, however the Liv-N-Well Colonic Board’s tip is so small that very little discomfort, if any, is felt upon insertion. (The pencil sized tip is only inserted 2 to 3 inches into the rectum).
Likewise, with a Liv-N-Well Colonic Board, the infusion of water into the colon should not be painful. There can be an occasional obstruction that will back up the water and create a bit of pressure in the colon. The feeling is usually that of wanting to have a bowel movement, accompanied by a slight cramp. Most of the time, with gentle massaging of the affected area, you can loosen the material that is obstructing the water and the discomfort goes away instantly. When this occurs it is common to release a large hardened chunk of mucous.
With the Liv-N-Well Colonic Board, you are in charge of how much water you let into your colon. We advise to listen to your body. When it tells you to evacuate the waste then you probably should. If you feel excessive pain during the use of the Liv-N-Well Colonic Board, we would recommend that you see a physician.
Do I run a risk of perforating my colon wall with a hard stiff tip?
How long does a colonic take?
The treatment itself takes up to 45 minutes, so with changing time, you’ll need to allow at least an hour. Your first treatment will normally take longer as your therapist will need to review your medical history and assess your current bowel health before proceeding with your therapy.
Does a colonic wash away ‘good bacteria’?
Most of the important bowel bacteria are present on the bowel wall and are not removed during colon hydrotherapy. Since these good bacteria breed best in a balanced environment, a colonic cleanse may actually improve their environment and increase their numbers. However, if your therapist thinks that your bowel bacteria may be out of balance, they may suggest a probiotic after your treatment.
What can I expect afterwards?
Generally speaking as soon as your treatment is completed you can carry on with your normal routine. You may experience an increase in bowel movements over the first few hours, to eliminate any remaining water or waste. This is perfectly normal and shouldn’t involve any undue urgency or discomfort. After that you may find that you don’t need to go to the toilet for a while, perhaps as long as a few days, as your bowels have been emptied.
Will it be okay to eat after having a colonic?
After a colonic, you can continue with your normal daily routine, including eating and drinking. However, you should avoid any foods that you know irritate or upset your stomach and avoid alcohol. Your therapist will offer advice on healthy eating options to help you maintain the benefits you have gained from the treatment.
